Yesterday, after coming home from my FIL’s place at around 11pm, it was time to let the kitties out and play in the human room. While I was cleaning the door kick plates in the kitty room, I heard a very soft meow coming from outside the window. I didn’t think anything about it because I didn’t see anything odd with the window that might indicate any of the kitties were outside. However, after I finished cleaning, I joined the kitties and noticed that Jerome and Jesse was missing. I knew immediately that somehow the kitties managed to escaped. I informed Azwaj and he went to check it out. He climbed out the service balcony (and we’re on the 6th floor ya) and peeped inside the balcony on the 7th floor… and true enough both of them were at the floor meowing away.
The problem was there is no one living upstairs us so we can’t like just knock on their door and ask for the kitties back.. We decided to just let them be and hope that they will climb back down.
In the meantime both me and Azwaj inspected the window and we sort of figured out how they managed to escaped the secured window. There was a tiny opening at the very top and they must have squeeze themselves through that hole. Azwaj immediately sealed that area inspected other areas to see if there was any other hole and sealed those at all even though it was really very small.
Anyway, both kitties didn’t come down but since it was dark, there was nothing we can do. Today however, Azwaj decided to climb again up (risking life and limb) using our own ledge and the aircon bracket as support. He lured them out using food and managed to grab Jesse first and very carefully but quickly pass her to me who is waiting on our floor. After resting for a while, Azwaj went up again and again lure Jerome out with food. Finally both kitties are now back home acting like nothing ever happened while Azwaj is all sore from all that climbing.
Thank goodness all went well and no one was hurt. Daddy was a superhero indeed
